A Lesson on Philippine Symbols or "Mga Pambansang Sagisag" from Our 1st Graders

In celebration of Buwan ng Wika this August, students present a 30-minute variety show every Monday that showcase anything that is "Filipino."

Last August 10, 2009, the 1st - 3rd graders surprised us with a very entertaining program. The 1st graders presented the different Philippine symbols.

the Philippine flag
national house - Bahay Kubo
national shoes - Bakya
national dress - Barong Tagalog
national fruit- Mango
national fish - Bangus
national flower - Sampaguita
national food - Lechon
national animal - Carabao


Allen Navarette, a 2nd grader, and Steve Louis Rotelo, a 3rd grader, rendered the audience with Filipino songs, "Ikaw na Nga" and "Iingatan Ka," respectively.

Thea Aguirre and Arabela Pagayon of Grade 2 graced the court
and danced to the tune of Cotabato.
