In the observance of the yultide season, the Silay City Government set up a Christmas Village at the public plaza. They sponsored a Christmas Chorale Competition which was participated by the different public and private schools in the Division of Silay City on December 11, 2009.Among 5 participants from the different schools the SFAS Chorale won second place and got a cash prize of P3,000.00 pesos from the City Mayor Jose L. Montelibano. The SFAS chorale was composed of 16 high school students and trained by Sir Leonard Guinabo.
