An Inspirational Message to the Graduates

The school was blessed during the graduation ceremony as the guest speaker was a former SFAS graduate, class of 1970. Police Superintendent Rolando Solis Segaya grew up in Hacienda Tinihaban and was one of the 40 students who attended Grade 1 in 1964 in SFAS when it first opened. He attended high school at the Negros Occidental School of Arts and Trade and then went on to obtain a BS degree in Criminology at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos. For his post graduate studies, he went to the Ortanez University in Quezon City for his Bachelor of Laws degree. He also received a Masters degree in Management, major in public administration.

Prior to his present appointment as Chief of Police of the Oton Police Station at the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, he also worked as Chief of Police in Basilan Province. In Zamboanga City, he worked as Intelligence Officer and Operations Officer of the Zamboanga City Metropolitan District Command as well as Chief Investigator and Precinct Commander of the Tetuan Police Precinct. From 2005 – 2008, he served as Sub-station Commander of the Payatas Police Sub-station, Bataan Hills Police Station and in the Quezon City Police District.

He presently resides in Quezon City with his wife Gloria and his three children.

In his message to the graduates, he shared how he would work on Saturdays in the farm doing weeding to earn for his transportation allowance to go to high school in the city. In college, he would study during the day and at night, he would work in the fish pond as a guard for his allowance as well.
